So we head straight left. Sure we duck under a rope. Sabrina is questioning me! I wave her on down the mountain. We rode for 45 min in deep powder! Ripping all the way down to lift 3. Then CRASH , I blast over a shallow creek, tumble on the other side. I pick myself up and see that Lift 3 is closed!! I Ride a little further to see that lift 5 and 7 are closed as well. The only way out was UP. Sabrina catches up and fill her in on the news "We are stuck on the backside of purgatory mountain."
We tried the emergency phone twice, all we got was the voice mail.
So we decided to hike. I knew the lay of the land. I carried the boards. After 3 hours of hiking we decided to take a inventory supply count! "Fill the bottle of water full of snow, keep it close your body" I instruct Sabrina. We ate the half of the ham sandwich.
Sabrina busted out her GPS on her phone which helped make a very key decision on which way to go. Down into the dark river bottom or up one more ridge line. We chose the ridge line. 30 min later we found a snowmobile tracks.
